The women of WoManila come from different parts of the Philippines. While WoManila is a clear portmanteau of the words “Woman”and “Manila”, the latter has been chosen to be representative of the country, it being the capital city, and is not to be taken to refer only to women of Manila. It is our very intention that the contributors of WoManila come from different cultural backgrounds, work environments, and personal circumstances for the purpose of providing articles that come from a wide range of perspectives.
Our MissionWoManila endeavors to be a community that facilitates access to information, freedom of expression, and opportunities that will assist women in their goals to maximize personal potentials not only for one’s self but also for the benefit of a greater number of people.
Our VisionWoManila is a primary mover of women empowerment through education and linking to opportunities for positive contribution to society by creating a fitting and dynamic platform for understanding women’s needs, struggles, and aspirations.
Executive EditorTeresa is the voice of WoManila as she sets the general tone of the website contents. She brings to this collaboration her 10 years of professional content writing experience and the belief that every woman has a right to develop herself to the fullest potentials, regardless of circumstances. As the head of the WoManila writing team, she hopes to bring together the individual and collective voices of all writers/contributors for the purpose of bringing to light the many issues confronting women. She is currently maintaining 5 personal blogs Teresay, Just-Passing-Thru, A Letter Writer, La Vida Milagrosa, and Ambos Mundos Family Food Blog but this will not stop her from being part of this worthy collaboration.
Managing EditorDaphne is the brains behind the WoManila concept and the community’s Marketing Strategist. She has more than a decade of solid experience in Customer Relations and has been a Digital Marketing Practitioner since 2011. Working as a Community Manager for the blogs and websites she created and established for other people, it did not take long for her to come up with the idea of a collaboration project about women, for women, by Filipino women. And thus was born WoManila. She is a mother and wife, and a loving one at that.
